• Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
  The Akron SBDC at the University of Akron provides owners of new and expanding businesses with comprehensive consulting services, business training programs and networking opportunities. As part of a national network, the SBDC also serves as a link to other local, state and national business service providers.

• Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)
  The Procurement Technical Assistance Center at The University of Akron, serving businesses in Summit, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Wayne counties, to help businesses sell to the Government (In association with the U.S. Department of Defense and Ohio Department of Development)
   
• Akron Area Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  The Akron area BBB is a non-profit organization serving Ashland, Medina, Portage, Richmond, Summit, and Wayne Counties.   Better Business Bureaus:
  • Provide reports on business firms
  • Provide information about charities
  • Help resolve consumers' disputes with businesses

  The Portage Lakes Career Center offers both high school students and adult students career training and development to meet the demands of today's high-tech job market.
